Enjoyed a great lunch at the Thomas Moore Tavern today (two adults & two kids). The Moroccan lamb burger and the panini both came with house fries which were hand made and delicious. The only minor complaint was that they were very salty, I normally prefer to add salt to taste. The children's meals were very good also, a lovely piece of fish in panko breadcrumbs and a home-made beef burger went down a storm with our two little ones. The fish was served with peas and the burger came with salad. At €5 for a children's meal the quality was very good. The service was friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. As it is Opera Festival time it was busy but there was no problem with us ordering from the bar menu while sitting in the restaurant which has nice booth seating. We will definitely return as a family.

First timer to the pub and restaurant, must admit was a bit unsure as I don't rate restaurants attached to pubs very highly. A group of us were there for a 60th party and went for the set menu on a Friday evening. It was fantastic. I'm a fussy vegetarian and I was in heaven!!! Everyone loved their crab salads, steaks, fish etc., the side veg were gorgeous, mini ratatouille, home cut fries, potatoes!!! All so beautifully cooked. The wine flowed, the staff were so friendly and helpful and then in the bar a saxophone player started up which took half our table onto the dance floor!!! We had our table in the alcove down a few steps, so it was close to the bar but I can imagine upstairs being more intimate and quiet. All in all, the food, the staff and the atmosphere was brilliant. I can't wait to go back.
