Head Chef Krzysztof Pilniak aka Chris

Our Head Chef Krzysztof Pilniak (Chris) heralds from Poland and has over fifteen years experience both in his homeland and in Ireland.

Chris has been cheffing in Ireland since 2004 in a number of popular restaurants and hotels in the south east, including the well known Seafield Hotel in Gorey, the Glenview Hotel in Delgany and the Radisson Farnham Estate in Cavan.

We asked Chris to give us an overview of his journey so far:

I have been cooking since I was a child and feel that I was destined to become a chef. I studied cheffing from 1998, working with local celebrity chef “Maciej Kuron” in the popular restaurant “Studio Buffo”and then in the Ibis Hotel, both in Warsaw.


I participated in a number of cheffing competitions winning the best student in the county and came 5th in the National Polish Student Competitions finishing first in my year.


I continued with my college education moving on to study group Nutrition Technology in Warsaw, Poland and began working in the 5 star Sheraton Hotel under Swiss Master chef Kurt Scheller – who boasts his own TV programme, culinary Academy and outstanding moustache. I also undertook private classes with him to expand my knowledge.


In 2004 I moved to Ireland and have been working here in various hotels and restaurants, most of which are based in the Sunny South East, sharing my creative ideas and passion for food with our guests.
